What happened
A protester from the Dey 1404 (December 2025/January 2026) demonstrations in Mehran, Ilam province, originally from Malekshahi; after months in hiding, was surrounded by security forces on the morning of Wednesday 18 Shahrivar 1405. During the ensuing clash he detonated a grenade, killing himself and at least two law enforcement officers and wounding several others.
