Tasnim, citing the Intelligence Ministry, said on 21 January that 11 people were arrested and Gol-Mohammad Shahouzehi was killed in joint operations on the outskirts of Zahedan, calling them Ansar al-Furqan members. Haalvsh identified him as a wushu champion, coach and referee and a former political prisoner, and said no independent evidence supported the claim; Ansar al-Furqan denied any link to him.
