At least 25 Turks from Ardabil arrested in the January protests were sentenced by Revolutionary and Criminal Courts to a combined 49 years and three months in prison, Hengaw reported on 7 August. On 8 August Hengaw added that at least 29 others remained in Ardabil Central Prison without trial.
