BBC Verify analysed 392 leaked photos taken inside the Kahrizak Forensic Medical Centre in south Tehran and identified at least 326 distinct victims, including 18 women; many bodies carried labels dated 9 January. Sources claimed the true number of dead at the mortuary ran into the thousands.
