Hengaw reported that Mehdi Ghanbari, 27, wounded on 8 January, died on 17 January. His family was told either to call him a Basij member killed by protesters or pay 500 million tomans and not bury him in Malekshahi; unable to pay, they complied, and residents then refused his burial in the town and boycotted the funeral.
