Shot from behind with live military ammunition by Basij suppression forces near Moallem Street (Sorgol) in Rasht; the bullet entered his back and exited through his abdomen. He died after being transferred to the hospital. He was a two-time kickboxing championship medalist and had finished his mandatory military service two weeks prior, though he had not yet received his discharge card. He was buried on Monday, 21 Dey, at the Masjed-e Dokhaniat cemetery in Rasht.
