Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani, 25, and Amirhossein Safari Hosseinabadi, 28, were publicly hanged in Alikhani Square. A crowd that gathered to stop the executions was confronted by security forces and several people were arrested. Iran Human Rights called them the first public executions recorded in 2026.
