Parsham Parvas, a businessman living in Tehran who was born around 1975, was arrested in mid-March 2026, according to rights groups. Sources say his arrest followed online posts criticizing security checkpoints, including a message to a Telegram channel complaining about the traffic jams they caused. Iran Human Rights Society reports that Basij forces detained him as he passed through a checkpoint, and that he was shot in the right shin after his first round of interrogation. He was later transferred to Suite 35 of Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj with a leg wound, and former inmates say he struggled to get adequate medical care there.
