Amer Ramesh was a young Baluch man from Belingi, a village in the Pirsohrab district of Chabahar. People close to him said he lost his father at 14, worked alongside his brothers, and hoped to go to university. On the night of October 2, 2024, security forces raided an herbal shop in Belingi with light and semi-heavy weapons. According to Baluch rights groups, Amer was inside the shop when an armed car being chased by security forces stopped outside, and he was shot and wounded. His family was first told he had been killed. Days later, state media aired a confession video in which bruising around his eye was clearly visible. The Revolutionary Court in Zahedan sentenced him to death for baghi (armed rebellion) through bombings and ambushes, and for membership in Jaish al-Adl and the Baloch Justice Seekers Movement. His family was not allowed to see him for eight months. Rights groups say security agents told them he would be executed unless his brother abroad surrendered. The Supreme Court upheld the sentence, and Amer was hanged in Zahedan Central Prison on April 26, 2026, without a final visit with his family. He was buried that night in his home village.

Stop the execution of Amer Ramesh
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing about Amer Ramesh, who is held in Zahedan Prison in Iran and faces the death penalty (Executed).
I urge you to call on the Iranian authorities to halt this execution at once, quash the death sentence, and grant Amer Ramesh a fair retrial without recourse to the death penalty, with a lawyer of their choice and no use of forced confessions.

Do you know someone killed in Sistan and Baluchestan?
Tell us privately. We check every name before it goes on the site, and we never publish who told us.
A death sentence is a status, not a permanent fact about a person. Every case has a check date and a source, and the earlier status is kept. An execution is recorded only with two independent rights-group or news sources, or with an editor’s written reason.
