Ali Akbar Mahlouji, also listed in some reports as Ali Mahlouji, is a resident of Mahallat in Markazi Province who was detained during the nationwide protests of January 2026. Born in 1980, he is married and the father of two children. He was arrested in Mahallat on January 12, 2026 (22 Dey 1404) and is being held in Arak Prison on charges of “moharebeh” (enmity against God) and “efsad-e fel-arz” (corruption on earth). The Islamic Revolutionary Court sentenced him to death on the charge of “moharebeh,” along with four other protest detainees from Mahallat: Erfan Khalili, Hessam Isaei, Hossein Shokouhi and Abolghasem Kazem Aslani. According to reports, none of the five had any prior criminal record. The verdict also orders them jointly to pay more than 553.76 billion rials for damage to the Mahallat Justice Department building and its equipment. HRANA reported that the sentences were issued at the first-instance stage. When the verdict was announced, the defendants had only 10 days to file an appeal. No public reports have yet said whether the Supreme Court has ruled on the case.

Stop the execution of Ali Akbar Mahlouji
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing about Ali Akbar Mahlouji, who is held in Arak Prison in Iran and faces the death penalty (Sentenced to death).
I urge you to call on the Iranian authorities to halt this execution at once, quash the death sentence, and grant Ali Akbar Mahlouji a fair retrial without recourse to the death penalty, with a lawyer of their choice and no use of forced confessions.

A death sentence is a status, not a permanent fact about a person. Every case has a check date and a source, and the earlier status is kept. An execution is recorded only with two independent rights-group or news sources, or with an editor’s written reason.
