Hesam Eisaei (also spelled Issaei) is a mobile phone seller from Mahallat, in Iran’s Markazi Province. He is one of five people arrested in Mahallat in connection with the January 2026 (Dey 1404) protests who were sentenced to death. The other four are Erfan Khalili, a supermarket worker; Ali-Akbar Mahlouji, a bus driver and father of two; Hossein Shokouhi, a mine and stone-cutting worker; and Abolghasem Kazem-Aslani, a greenhouse worker and guard. All five were convicted of “moharebeh” (enmity against God). Iran International first reported the sentences in early July 2026, citing sources familiar with the cases. Those sources said the men were being held in Arak Prison and had only 10 days to appeal. HRANA later reported the same sentences and confirmed the five were held in Arak Prison. As of August 2026, a committee monitoring the detainees said no further details of the case or the prisoners’ current status had been made public.

Stop the execution of Hessam Isayi
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing about Hessam Isayi, who is held in Arak Prison in Iran and faces the death penalty (Sentenced to death).
I urge you to call on the Iranian authorities to halt this execution at once, quash the death sentence, and grant Hessam Isayi a fair retrial without recourse to the death penalty, with a lawyer of their choice and no use of forced confessions.

Yours faithfully,

Do you know someone killed in Markazi?
Tell us privately. We check every name before it goes on the site, and we never publish who told us.
A death sentence is a status, not a permanent fact about a person. Every case has a check date and a source, and the earlier status is kept. An execution is recorded only with two independent rights-group or news sources, or with an editor’s written reason.
