Their story

Hassan Rahmani Qeshlaq, known to family and friends as Adel, was killed during the nationwide protests in Iran in January 2026 (Dey 1404). He came from the Miyaneh area of East Azerbaijan province, and his father’s name was Ali. His name appears on the list of the dead published by the Iranian government in February 2026. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) lists his death as confirmed, and Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) records him as killed in East Azerbaijan in January. On 26 January, an Instagram page for Sahlabad village in Miyaneh’s Kaghazkonan district shared a memorial portrait of him, a gray-haired, middle-aged man. Relatives and villagers left condolences beneath it. His age, occupation and the exact date, place and circumstances of his death have not been made public.
