Struck by shotgun pellets during protests on 18 Dey in Semirom, fled out of fear of arrest, attacked by security forces about a month later in the Baharestan area; family was contacted on 19 Bahman to collect his body, which showed signs of beating and injuries; family was pressured to declare the cause of death as a 'heart attack'. Burial held on 21 Bahman in Semirom.
