An independent archive of people killed in the crackdown on the Dey 1404 protests. It is not a complete list and it does not produce a final toll.

It is only the count of names recorded here with a source. It is not an estimate of everyone killed.

The blackout, pressure on families, different definitions of “killed in the protests”, and different methods of checking all produce different figures. We do not hide that, and we do not average them.

The name may not yet have a source we can check, it may be waiting to be matched, or a family may have asked for it to be hidden. You can send it through the form.

If a match is not certain, both rows stay until a person reviews them. An uncertain merge is not done automatically.

A photograph is saved only when it comes from a page already about that person, on a source the site allows. Photographs are never searched by name.

A means at least two independent lists. B means one rights or media list. C means a family report or several linked posts. D is not public until it is strengthened.

No. If a name is also on that list, the record says so. The list never confirms a person on its own.

It may help find leads, normalise spelling, translate the interface, and flag possible duplicates. It is never the only evidence for publishing a person.

Use the submission form. If you are inside Iran, do not leave contact details. A request to hide a record is reviewed, and the record can be taken off the public site while that happens.
