Security forces attempted to present him as a 'Basiji' and 'government martyr' but his mother explicitly rejected this. From a well-known family in Meybod - his uncle was the first casualty from this city in the Iran-Iraq war and one of Meybod's boulevards is named after him. His death occurred on the anniversary of his father's death.
