Their story
Saeed (Amin) Nazer Ghomi, a 42-year-old father of a 15-year-old son, died under suspicious circumstances after being shot by security forces during protests in Tehranpars on the night of January 8. Although he was initially hospitalized with a non-lethal gunshot wound to his thigh, his body was transferred to the Kahrizak morgue four days later bearing burn marks, severe bruising, and large surgical sutures along his chest; raising strong suspicions from his family regarding torture or organ removal. State authorities issued a death certificate attributing his demise to "cardiac arrest caused by electrocution," a claim his family firmly rejects. Following three weeks of enforced disappearance, his family was notified by an anonymous call and buried his body on February 1 under heavy security presence, while being denied the right to hold a public memorial.
