Their story

Alireza Nemati Ouchikan, 26, was shot dead by security forces on Friday, January 9, 2026 (19 Dey 1404), during the protests in Tehran’s Shadabad area. According to an account published on March 27 by journalist Amir Farshad Ebrahimi, he was at the protests in the Yaftabad neighborhood, on 17 Shahrivar Street in Shadabad, when he was hit from the front by live ammunition. The bullet entered just above his navel and exited through his lower back. Ebrahimi wrote that Alireza’s name had not been made public until then. HRANA’s Crimson Winter report lists his death as confirmed, giving the place as Shadabad, Tehran, and the date as January 9. Iran Human Rights’ list of people killed in the January protests gives his age as 26. Iran International’s Javidnaman memorial includes him with a photograph. No details about his occupation, education or family have been published so far.
