Their story
Peyman Azimi was a young man from the Moghan region of Ardabil province in northwestern Iran, reportedly from the village of Fouladlou Qoyusu in Bileh Savar County. During the nationwide protests in January 2026 (Dey 1404), he was shot in the head in the city of Ardabil and died of his wounds. His age, occupation and the exact date of his death have not been made public. A photo released by rights groups shows a young man with dark curly hair. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has confirmed his death in its documentation of those killed during the protests, and the Iran Human Rights Society has included him in its list of victims from Ardabil.
