Their story

Ebrahim Saeed Azadi, also recorded as Saeed Ebrahimi (Azadi), was shot and killed in the town of Qir, in Fars province, on the night of 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), during nationwide anti-government protests, according to IranWire and Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO). He was a young resident of the Shahrak-e Emam neighbourhood on the outskirts of Qir. One IHRNGO entry, which appears to refer to him, gives his age as 22. IranWire, citing a local source, reported that he was hit directly by gunfire from a Kalashnikov rifle. The source said residents recognised the shooter as a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) staff in Qir and Karzin, and that he later fled. Residents have called for his arrest. These allegations have not been independently verified.
