Their story

Bahar Seifi was a 2-year-old girl who lived with her family on Setayesh Street in Neyshabur, in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province. On the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, the second night of unrest in the city, her brother Milad took her by the hand to put the household trash out at the end of their alley. When they reached the corner, they found burning bins and cars and people running. Frightened, Bahar clung to her brother. A gunshot struck her in the forehead; according to one account, the bullet ricocheted off a wall. Milad carried her home bleeding, and she was rushed to hospital in critical condition. She fell into a coma and died after about three days. Human rights groups say she was hit during gunfire by security forces at protesters, while state media attributed her death to protesters. She was buried on January 15, 2026, in the cemetery of Shadab village near Nishapur. HRANA has listed her among the children confirmed killed during the protests.

Their narrative
