Forces fired Kalashnikovs at protesters in Khoshk-e Bijar on the night of 7 January, killing Mobin Yaghoubzadeh, 17, and Milad Gholamzadeh, 31, who was shot in the throat by forces from a Basij base; Sobhan Hadipour was critically wounded in the head, Hengaw reported.

Iran Human Rights reported that in Isfahan, Najafabad, Shahin Shahr, Khomeyni Shahr, Shahreza, Falavarjan, Zarrin Shahr, Fuladshahr, Baharestan and Lenjan forces fired military weapons without distinguishing protesters from passers-by. According to at least two informed sources cited by KHRN, a minimum of 70 bodies of protesters killed by IRGC gunfire on 8 January in neighbourhoods including Darreh Derazh, Nowbahar, Elahieh, Bolvar and Rashidi were taken to Taleghani Hospital in Kermanshah. KHRN called 8 January the deadliest day in Kermanshah.
Pedram Argha, a Yarsan dentist, was shot twice by IRGC forces outside his workplace in Kermanshah's Maskan neighbourhood after stepping in when an officer was beating a protester, and later died. Release of his body was conditional on calling him Basij; at his funeral on 12 January his father said the label was forced.
Hengaw reported that Mohammad Matin Bagheri, 16, was shot dead in Kermanshah's Maskan Bazaar area; witnesses said forces put his badly wounded body in a detention vehicle and later left it by a highway. He was buried on 11 January.
KHRN reported that the bodies of taekwondo athlete Saman Fattahi and Hassan Nouri Kermanshahi, shot by IRGC forces in Kermanshah's Sabouni neighbourhood on 8 January, were released only after payments of seven and six billion rials; Farhad Cheraghizadeh's family paid eight billion.

Intelligence Ministry agents raided Dehloran Hospital on the evening of 8 January and forcibly arrested nurses Ahmad Khosravi, Mohammad Moradi Taregh, Ehsan Ahmadi and Hossein Karami for treating people wounded by government forces, Hengaw reported.
Bahram Zahedi, 42, and Mojtaba Ghorbani, 33, were killed by direct fire from state forces during protests in Rasht on the evening of 8 January, Hengaw reported.
University student Khaled Mollaei, son of Sunni cleric Abdulhamid Mollaei, was shot by government forces while walking home with his brother in Bandar Abbas; Mohammad Mohammadlou was killed in the same incident. Mehdi Salahshour, a prominent sculptor, sculpture teacher and father of two, was shot dead with a Kalashnikov by government forces in Mashhad on the evening of 8 January, Hengaw reported.
Nurse Mansoureh Heidari and her husband Behrouz Mansouri were shot dead on the evening of 8 January while standing in front of the Qoran Mosque on Ashouri Street, Bushehr, by government forces stationed inside the mosque, Hengaw reported. She left two children aged 7 and 10.
Sogol Hashemi suffered a broken leg when forces fired live ammunition at protesters in Sari on 8 January; the same day IRGC intelligence arrested her father, Amir Hashemi, and took him to an unknown location, Hengaw reported.
Mehrdad Yaghoubi-Mehr, 28, a University of Tehran chemistry PhD student from Doroud, was shot in the head in the Ghaleh Hassan Khan area of south Tehran during the 8 January protests, IHRNGO reported on 27 January.
Mohammad (Milad) Gholami, 25, a computer science student, was shot in the head with live ammunition at the 8 January protest on Pirouzi Street; his family found his body a week later among corpses laid on the ground at Behesht-e Zahra, his brother told IHRNGO.
Farzin Poost-Ashkan Douraki, 26, a barber, was shot in the back of the head at about 22:45 on 8 January by a sniper firing from a rooftop at the Simin intersection on Dr Hesabi Street, Isfahan, according to sources close to his family who spoke to IHRNGO. (TIM records list 9 January.)
Peyvand Naeimi, a 30-year-old Baha'i dog trainer, was arrested at work by plainclothes IRGC Intelligence agents on 8 January and held in solitary confinement in Kerman Central Prison; IHRNGO reported that he and his cousin Borna were subjected to torture, including mock executions, to force confessions to a murder.

Kamran Akbari, 45, a public-school teacher from Islamabad-e Gharb and father of one, was shot in the abdomen at close range with a military-grade firearm during protests in Kermanshah's Elahiyeh district on 8 January, Hengaw reported.
Government forces opened fire near the couple's home in Kermanshah on the evening of 8 January, killing Shehla Kakaei in front of her house and wounding her husband Mehdi (Khabat) Kakaei, who died by suicide days later, Hengaw reported.

Seyed Kazem Nazari, a Kurdish officer at Bojnurd Police Station No. 12, refused orders on the evening of 8 January to take part in suppressing protesters and was later sentenced to 13 months in prison, Hengaw reported on 24 February.

Masoud Babaei and Ahmad Khaksar were arrested in Shirvan on 8 January; sources close to the families said confessions were extracted under torture and North Khorasan state TV presented them as 'ringleaders'. He has been executed,' but the family was not allowed to see the body, IranWire reported on 9 February.

Mohammadreza Ahangar was killed by a direct shot from government agents during protests on Kashani Street at Sadeghiyeh Second Square, Tehran, on 8 January (18 Dey), IranWire reported. Eyewitnesses said the shot to his head was fired from the top of the Goldis complex opposite Ibn Sina hospital.
Masoud Zatparvar, a former world classic physique champion and bodybuilding coach, was killed by government forces during the protests on Thursday 8 January (18 Dey), Independent Persian reported. IranWire gives the date of his killing in Rasht as 9 January (19 Dey). His Instagram page was taken down without explanation after 10 January.

Citing an informed source, Manoto reported that 54-year-old Miragha Rezaei was killed by direct fire from government forces in Tehran’s Fallah neighbourhood.
In a televised speech, Ali Khamenei described the protesters as rioters and harmful individuals and said Trump's hands were stained with Iranian blood. According to The New York Times, he ordered the Supreme National Security Council the same day to crush the protests 'by any means necessary'.
The head of the North Khorasan judiciary said the prosecutor of Esfarayen and several law enforcement and security officers were killed when the portable cabin they were in was set on fire. TIM's records also list about 25 people killed in Esfarayen on 8 January.
A doctor in Neyshabur told CNN that security forces had killed 'at least 30 people… among them were children', including a five-year-old shot in its mother's arms. Bystanders were also shot, and the injured were afraid to go to hospital.
Doctors told the BBC that hospitals in Tehran and Shiraz were overwhelmed, suspending non-urgent surgery. Many patients had gunshot wounds to the head and eyes.
Buildings were set on fire in Tehran, including mosques in the Gholhak and Saadat Abad neighbourhoods. A former IRGC detainee later told Iran International that he saw orders to remove valuables from a mosque before it was set alight.
Airlines in the UAE, Qatar, Oman and Turkey cancelled flights to Iranian cities as the protests grew.
On the evening of 9 January a sniper shot schoolgirl Bahareh Shahmehri, 17, from behind in Neyshabur, a source close to her family said. Witnesses said the wound was larger than standard ammunition.
A relative said Jahanbakhsh Hesarfirouzeh, 70, was shot from behind at close range with shotgun pellets in Shiraz while trying to stop agents firing at people.
Sajad Rahimi, 36, was shot with live ammunition in Marvdasht on 9 January. A relative said he did not go to hospital for fear of arrest and died from blood loss. Attempts to hold a memorial were met with threats and summonses.
Student Amirhossein Saeedi, 19, was shot on the evening of 9 January and died that night at Fajr Hospital on Piroozi Street. Agents beat his father on the way to hospital, and officials later pressed the family to declare him a 'Basij martyr'.
Dr Mahsa Dezfoulian Kermanshahi, 39, was shot dead in Fardis, Karaj. Her family kept her body at home overnight to prevent 'body theft', and refused an offer to list her as a 'martyr of the Islamic Republic'.
Milad Mianekhah Monfaredi, 29, a former Malavan youth footballer, was shot from behind in Bandar Anzali. Security forces tried to record his death as a narcotics overdose, but the registry recorded a gunshot wound.
Student Amirali Ghanbarzadeh, 16, was shot dead in Garmdareh, Karaj. To release his body, agents made his father choose between saying he was a Basij 'martyr' or that he 'fell from a roof'. The family was barred from posting online.
Danial Barkati, 22, was killed on 9 January and identified days later at Kahrizak. The family was told he died of stab wounds but saw signs of gunshots; release was conditional on declaring him Basij and a designated burial plot.
Bahar Seifi, two, was killed on the evening of 9 January in Neyshabur. State TV later aired an interview in which her family blamed protesters.

Nazanin-Zahra Esmi-Khani, 18, a photographer and guitarist, was shot in the forehead during protests in Zibashahr, Qazvin province; her body was released after two days for three billion rials, KHRN reported. TIM records date her death to 8 January.
Mahan Mardani Garsadafi, a Shahrood University student from Qasr-e Shirin, was shot in the back outside his family home in Qods (Qaleh Hassan Khan); his mother found his bloodied body when she opened the door. Javad Ganji, 39, a film and TV director from Hamedan, was shot dead during protests in Tehran's Sadeghiyeh area on Friday 9 January; Hengaw said video it reviewed showed dozens of other civilians killed by direct fire.

Borna Dehghani, a 17-year-old Baha'i student, was fatally shot by government forces during protests in Karaj on 9 January, Hengaw reported.
Omid Teymourirad, 47, his brother Amir, 42, and his son Armin, 19, were shot dead during protests in Fardis, Karaj, on the evening of 9 January, and another family member was seriously wounded, Hengaw reported.

Nima Abbasi, 23, a transgender man, was shot in the head at about 9 pm on 9 January in Isfahan while a friend was walking him home, and died later; Hengaw said he was the second transgender man whose killing in the protests it had verified.
Fatemeh Nasiri, a mother of two, and her niece Zahra Jafari, Lor women from Vanak in Semirom County, were shot dead with live ammunition during protests in Baharestan, Isfahan, on 9 January; their families continued to face pressure, Hengaw reported.
Hengaw confirmed the identities of seven Gurji (Georgian-heritage) people, including 18-year-old Hananeh Azizi, shot dead with live ammunition by government forces during the Isfahan protests.
As large protests began after Friday prayers in Zahedan on 9 January, military and security forces around Makki Mosque fired directly at protesters, using tear gas and pellets; at least five protesters were wounded, according to Haalvsh, which published photos of spent cartridges. Women worshippers also gathered near the mosque chanting 'From Zahedan to Tehran, I give my life for Iran'.
Dastgir Gorgij, about 30, a father of two infants without a birth certificate, from Zahedan's Shirabad area, was shot in the head from behind while a passenger in a car returning from a petrol station near the Emamat–Esteghlal crossroads in Mashhad on the evening of 9 January; he died in hospital two days later and was buried under security measures at Behesht-e Reza, Haalvsh reported.
Abolfazl Sheikhveisi, about 18, from Zabol and living in Mashhad's Toroq district, was killed on the evening of 9 January when forces fired directly at him and at least 21 others in Toroq; witnesses told Haalvsh that instead of taking the wounded to hospital, security forces drove them to places out of sight and left them to bleed to death. Hozeifeh Ostakh (Zargar), 11, registered as Meysam Jahantigh Monfared, was shot below the heart with live ammunition at about 9 pm on 9 January in Hor 13 alley of Shahrak-e Rajaei, Mashhad, after leaving home to buy bread; his family searched police stations for a day before finding him, Haalvsh reported. He was buried beside his uncle, who had been executed about nine years earlier.
On the evening of 9 January protesters burned tyres and blocked the Rask–Chabahar road at Hasanabad village; after a car linked to Basij forces questioned them, more forces arrived and opened fire, killing Ayoub Resaneh, 36, from Firouzabad village, Haalvsh reported.
Hossein Mohebbpour (Mahmoudi), 26, from Bashagard county, who worked at Kish's Marjan pier, was shot in the chest by security forces during the crackdown on the evening of 9 January; his body was taken home and buried nine days later, Haalvsh reported.
Ehsan Toufan (Chatri), 40, from Anbarabad and living in Bandar Abbas, father of a three-year-old girl, was shot from behind in the head and neck during protests outside the IRIB building in Bandar Abbas on 9 January, sources close to the family told Haalvsh. (TIM records list 8 January.)
Marzieh Kamali (Bameri), 23, from Anbarabad, a biomedical engineering student at Azad University in Kerman, was shot in the back on Bahmanyar Street in Kerman during the crackdown on the evening of 9 January and died of her wounds, Haalvsh reported on 29 January.
Mohammad Javad (Mohammad) Sarani, 30, a father from Hirmand county living in Gorgan, was shot by forces during protests in Shahriar on the evening of 9 January and died after being taken to hospital without receiving treatment, Haalvsh reported. (Haalvsh's later list gives him as resident of Tehran; TIM records list 9 and 10 January.)
According to initial information from local sources received by Haalvsh, at least 30 protesters were killed, nearly 100 wounded and more than 500 detained and taken to unknown locations during protests in Torbat-e Jam on the evening of 9 January; the identities had not been confirmed. BBC Persian verified that 70 bodies were brought to Poursina Hospital in Rasht on the night of Friday 9 January; the morgue was full so the bodies were taken away, and a hospital source said authorities asked relatives for 7 billion rials to release them for burial.
Ghazal Damarcheli, a 17-year-old art student, was shot outside her family home in Karaj on 9 January; a source close to the family told BBC News Persian that security forces refused to let the family bury her nearby and she was buried in a remote cemetery.
Negin Ghadimi, 28, a biotechnology student, joined protests in Tonekabon on 9 January despite her father's pleas; security forces opened fire on the crowd and she was hit in the side and died in her father's arms, telling him 'Dad, I'm burning', a family friend told BBC News Persian.

Surena Golgoon, an 18-year-old first-semester university student, was shot by security forces in Shahsavar (Tonekabon) on Friday 9 January (19 Dey) and died of a gunshot wound to the chest, Iran International reported.
CTP-ISW recorded 60 protests across 15 provinces on January 10, including 25 medium-sized and eight large demonstrations. It cautioned that the internet shutdown meant its data likely captured only part of actual protest activity.

The judiciary's media centre announced on 10 January that all cafés owned by former national footballer Voria Ghafouri in Tehran were sealed by order of the Tehran prosecutor for supporting the Kurdistan-wide general strike, Hengaw reported.
Hengaw verified at least 14 Lors, including one woman, killed in Nurabad (Mamasani), Fars, between 8 and 10 January. After a funeral on 10 January for three people killed on 8 January, marchers briefly took the courthouse; forces encircled them and snipers fired from rooftops. Wounded people sheltering in shops were shot again at close range, and Parisa Lashkari, 30, was shot in the heart after calling for help.
Ejmin Masihi, an Armenian resident of Tehran's Majidiyeh, was shot dead by state forces during protests in Narmak on 10 January, Hengaw reported.
Esmail Qalandarzehi (Keshani), 21, from Zahedan and living in Bandar Abbas, was shot in the head with live ammunition during protests in Bandar Abbas on the evening of 10 January; the Persian Gulf hospital called the family to collect his body and he was buried in Zahedan on 12 January, Haalvsh reported.
By the end of 10 January HRANA had confirmed 116 deaths in connection with the protests, seven of them under 18, and said most were killed by live ammunition or pellets, mostly at close range; it also counted 37 members of the security forces and one prosecutor killed, 2,638 arrests, and protests at 574 locations in 185 cities across all 31 provinces.
According to footage received by Hengaw, people in Rasht took to the streets for a third consecutive day on the evening of Saturday 10 January, chanting 'death to the dictator'.

CTP-ISW recorded 22 protests across nine provinces on January 11 but assessed that the lower visible count was largely due to the internet shutdown and interference with Starlink.
Reports said the authorities disrupted Starlink satellite internet nationwide, with up to 80% of its traffic interrupted by jamming.

The burial of Ali-Reza Seydi, 16, a labourer from Abdanan shot dead in Tehran on 8 January, drew a large crowd chanting anti-government slogans; reports said security forces fired live ammunition directly at mourners, KHRN reported. Place of burial assumed to be Abdanan.
Police chief Ahmadreza Radan said on 11 January that, in coordination with security bodies, the 'level of confrontation' with those he called rioters had been raised, announced 'important arrests' and said the judiciary would deal with detainees, Haalvsh reported.
On the evening of 11 January the government declared three days of public mourning and, without mentioning the security forces, attributed the deaths of protesters and security personnel to 'urban terrorist criminals', likening them to ISIS; the same day state TV aired footage from a large warehouse of bodies, blaming protesters for the killings, HRANA reported. HRANA's confirmed toll rose that day to 544, with 579 further deaths under review.
Videos from Behesht Zahra cemetery in Tehran showed families who had buried relatives killed in the protests chanting protest slogans at the graves.

Ten Baloch men were violently detained in a raid by government forces in the Shirabad area of Zahedan on 13 January, and two Baloch women were arrested in Chabahar, Hengaw reported.

Amnesty International said verified videos and eyewitness accounts from 10 cities in Alborz, Gilan, Kermanshah, Razavi Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Tehran showed a coordinated nationwide escalation of lethal force from the evening of 8 January, including direct fire without warning in Razavi Khorasan and killings in Kermanshah, Eslamabad-e Gharb and Gilan-e Gharb.
Ebrahim Ghaljaei, about 24, from Mirjaveh, was hit by about 48 pellets to the head, face, neck, chest, abdomen and legs when forces fired on protesters near the Khajeh Rabi shrine in Mashhad on 14 January; he died after eight days in Imam Reza hospital, Haalvsh reported.
CTP-ISW recorded no protests on January 15 and assessed that widespread security deployments, reported nighttime restrictions and the violent crackdown had suppressed street demonstrations for the moment.

Hengaw reported that Mehdi Ghanbari, 27, wounded on 8 January, died on 17 January. His family was told either to call him a Basij member killed by protesters or pay 500 million tomans and not bury him in Malekshahi; unable to pay, they complied, and residents then refused his burial in the town and boycotted the funeral. As the blackout entered its third week, NetBlocks said there were 'indications of an attempt to generate false traffic and manufacture narratives of a wider restoration', with much of the activity apparently from tunnelled users.
Amnesty said that since 8–9 January the authorities had kept a complete internet blackout, deployed heavily armed patrols, imposed night-time curfews and banned gatherings, arrested thousands, and subjected detainees to enforced disappearance and torture including sexual violence, while harassing bereaved families.
Rozhin Hosseininejad, a 20-year-old Baha'i who suffers from liver cirrhosis, was arrested at her family home in Kerman on 24 January and taken to the city's prison, where she remained despite specialists and the prison doctor confirming she needed specialised care, IranWire reported on 6 February.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran expressed serious concern over numerous reports of injured people being abducted from hospitals and taken to detention, calling it a clear violation of the right to medical treatment.
The statue in Iranshahr's Basij Square, seen as a symbol of the Basij and IRGC, was covered with red paint on its mouth, face and body on the evening of 26 January, an act residents described as symbolising the blood of protesters killed in the crackdown, Haalvsh reported.
Farhad Nadali, a doctor at 5 Azar Hospital in Gorgan, was reportedly arrested by IRGC intelligence for treating the injured and opposing armed forces inside the hospital. It was also alleged that forces fired at protesters from the hospital roof.
HRANA reported that the first court hearing related to the protests was held in Malard.
Dr Alireza Golchini, a Qazvin surgeon, was arrested in a violent raid on his family home for treating injured protesters and charged with moharebeh; forces beat him and broke several of his teeth, Hengaw reported on 27 January.
Teacher and children's rights activist Ali Cheraghi was arrested after security agents raided his home in Tehran's Punak neighbourhood; his phone and devices were taken and his Instagram page went offline.
Internet access began to partially resume on 28 January after 20 days, according to monitoring groups and users, but remained heavily restricted and unstable; signs of reconnection on 25 January had been reversed shortly afterwards.
IranWire reported that Communications Minister Sattar Hashemi acknowledged the internet shutdown was costing the economy $35.7 million a day.
EU ministers approved new sanctions over the crackdown and designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.

Iran Human Rights listed the death of Bijan Habibi, 26, in Zanjan as suspicious: it followed his stated intent to expose CCTV footage. The official cause was suicide.
While state media confirmed 3,000 arrests, IHRNGO estimated that at least 40,000 people, including children, had been detained, with eyewitnesses reporting checkpoints and door-to-door searches and many detainees held incommunicado without lawyers of their choice.
Dr Masoud Ebadifard Azari, head of Pasteur Hospital in Qazvin, and his wife Dr Parisa Porkar were detained over their role in treating people injured in the protests, Hengaw reported on 30 January.
At least seven relatives of Arman Gorjian, 19, a protester killed in January, were arrested in Nurabad (Mamasani), Fars, with no information on their whereabouts, Hengaw reported on 30 January.
Amin Pourfarhang, a Kurdish pharmacy student at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, was detained during protests in Shirvan and was being prosecuted for moharebeh, putting him at risk of a death sentence, Hengaw reported.
The US Treasury announced a new sanctions package naming Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, IRGC Intelligence Organisation head Majid Khademi, Babak Zanjani and several IRGC commanders, HRANA reported.
According to a report cited by HRANA, 106 indictments had been issued in Kerman province in protest-related cases and 20 people remained in detention.
Screenwriter Mehdi Mahmoudian, Abdollah Momeni and Vida Rabbani, who had signed a statement calling the killings a crime against humanity, were arrested in Tehran. Mahmoudian was released on 17 February.

State TV Channel 5 broadcast a forced confession by Abolfazl Salehi, 20, a Kurdish detainee in Mashhad, who people close to him said had been severely tortured, Hengaw reported.
The Office of the President published a list of 2,986 people killed in the 'recent incidents', out of the 3,117 it had announced, saying 131 were still unidentified. HRANA said the list lacked dates, places and circumstances of death.
A state TV programme aired a 'game' asking where the bodies of those killed were kept, with mocking answer options. After a public backlash, a network director was dismissed and the programme suspended.
The United Kingdom sanctioned Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and nine other officials for their role in the crackdown.
Haalvsh said on 2 February that it had identified 19 people from Sistan and Baluchestan province killed in connection with the crackdown, 16 of them Baloch, in cities including Mashhad, Qeshm, Kish, Bandar Abbas, Karaj, Pakdasht, Tehran, Shahriar, Kerman, Sabzevar, Nowshahr, Meybod and Rask; most were killed on 8 and 9 January.
A group of Iranian ophthalmologists published an open letter warning of a growing number of severe eye injuries and permanent blindness caused by pellet guns in the crackdown, calling the targeting of faces and eyes medically and ethically unacceptable, HRANA reported. Teachers' associations and the Union of Social Science Associations issued condemnations the same day.
The provincial intelligence directorates of Yazd and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari announced the arrest of 188 and 85 people respectively in connection with the protests; state media also reported 49 arrests in Pardis, HRANA reported.

Paralympic athlete Sajjad Salarvand was arrested by the IRGC Intelligence Organisation and temporarily released after posting bail of 5 billion tomans; the same day Premier League futsal referee Niloufar Mir-Karimi resigned in protest, saying life could not go on as normal while citizens' blood was being shed, HRANA reported.
Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison and two years of internal exile in Khosf for 'gathering and collusion' and propaganda.
HRANA reported that security forces searched journalist Azadeh Mokhtari's home, took her phone and ID documents and barred her from social media; photographer Yalda Moaiery's equipment was seized. A wanted protester was reported killed during an arrest attempt.

Based on interviews with several recently released detainees aged 18 to 32 from different cities and detention facilities, Hengaw reported on 8 February a consistent pattern of sexual, physical and psychological abuse to extract confessions, the use of female interrogators to humiliate young male detainees, threats of execution, mock trials and summary court sessions held days after arrest.
Students at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad gathered to commemorate students killed in the protests and to demand news of detained classmates.
A labour union said workers in Asaluyeh who intended to strike were detained collectively and held in warehouses belonging to their employers.

According to documents obtained by Hengaw, at least 139 children (134 boys and five girls) were arrested in Hamedan province between 30 December and 25 January and held in Hamedan, Nahavand, Malayer and the Hamedan juvenile correction centre. Hengaw separately reported at least 50 women held in Hamedan and Malayer prisons.
BBC News Persian said on 9 February that it had verified the identities of more than 200 of the thousands killed, using social media, verified footage, funeral and morgue images and eyewitness accounts, and published them on an interactive 'face wall'; at the time HRANA had confirmed 6,872 protester deaths.
Official media reported the arrest of 100 people in Ardabil in connection with the protests, with no details about their identities or where they were held.

The Guardian reported that twin sisters Taraneh and Romina Rahimi, 20, detained after the Isfahan protests, were sentenced: Taraneh to death and Romina to 25 years. Relatives said they were beaten and tortured.
Ten people arrested in Sabzevar in January, including 17-year-old Nazanin-Zahra Mousavi and two women, were sentenced to a combined 15 years of suspended prison terms and 1.5 billion tomans in fines and ordered to attend Friday prayers for two months and ideological classes for three months; the ruling was upheld on appeal, Hengaw reported on 6 September.
Iran International reported that Aida Heydari, fiancée of Abolfazl Soleimani Alamouti who was killed in Zibashahr on 9 January, died by suicide on 3 September, and that Danial Karimi, father of Amir-Mohammad Karimi killed in Marvdasht, died by suicide on 6 September.

Khosrow Mohammadnia, Masoud Toushmalani and Sirwan Shabani, Kurdish men from Kermanshah held in Qezel Hesar, were sentenced to death by Branch 23 of Tehran's Revolutionary Court over the January protests, Hengaw reported on 1 October.

Bojnurd Revolutionary Court sentenced Hadi Abbasian, a protester from Shirvan, to death; the sentence was served on him in Shirvan prison on 5 October (13 Mehr), Iran International reported. Since his arrest on 13 May he has been denied family visits and a lawyer of his choice. The office of Prince Reza Pahlavi published an audio message from him.
Borzou Rezaei, a Kurdish man from Kermanshah arrested in the January protests and held in Greater Tehran Penitentiary, was sentenced to death by Branch 23 of Tehran's Revolutionary Court, Hengaw reported on 6 October.
The death sentence of Omid Goudarzvand Chegini, 37, detained in Qazvin during the January 2026 protests, was upheld on appeal, Hengaw reported. He is held in Qazvin's Choubindar Prison and is at risk of execution.
Mohsen Babaeian, arrested in the January protests and held in Greater Tehran Penitentiary, was sentenced to death for moharebeh by Branch 26 of Tehran's Revolutionary Court under Judge Iman Afshari, Hengaw reported on 7 October.
Erfan Nabian (legal name Erfan Haj-Bayani Dehghani), a 26-year-old Isfahan protester sentenced to death after his arrest in the January protests, told Iran International he was tortured, forced to confess and subjected to a mock execution. He said interrogators kept a noose around his neck for about 10 minutes while questioning him about the Alikhani Square case.
IHRNGO said at least 617 people had been executed in Iran in 2026, more than two a day, with a sharp surge in national-security executions including protesters, while about 87% were for ordinary crimes.
Human rights lawyer Amirsalar Davoudi was arrested on 11 October after reporting on the execution of his client Alireza Sepahi; the head of the Isfahan judiciary accused him of publishing 'false' information and threatened prosecution under the espionage law, IHRNGO reported.
Reza Shoja Mazraji, a teacher and teachers' union activist arrested in the January protests, was sentenced in absentia by Branch 4 of Mashhad's Revolutionary Court to four years, one month and 17 days, Hengaw reported on 11 October.
Amnesty condemned the executions of Ali Hemmati Sistanian, Majid Nikandish, Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi, Alireza Raisi and Alireza Sepahi between 30 September and 5 October after torture-tainted trials, citing IHRNGO that Nikandish had been suspended by his arms, leaving him with a dislocated shoulder and broken jaw.

Peyman Ghadiri, 45, a January protester, died after about nine months in a coma, Iran International reported on 16 October. Agents had entered his home in Qarchak on the evening of 9 January and shot him in the head at close range; they also arrested his son that night to pressure the family into silence. He was buried on 15 October (23 Mehr).
Ilam Province's intelligence department announced the arrest of 11 people in Malekshahi County for an alleged role in the January 2026 protests, also accusing them of links to the US and Israel and of shooting at security forces, HRANA and Vahid Online reported.
Mohammadjavad Mohammadzadeh Tavasani, a student from Rudsar detained over the January 2026 protests, was sentenced by Lahijan Criminal Court to six months in prison and 20 lashes for 'disrupting public order', HRANA reported on 17 October. Another part of his case is before Rasht Revolutionary Court. He is held in Lahijan's Azbaram prison.
